This very beautiful and sumptious stole or shawl is in deep blue silk with narrow colourful ends and side design. It was made in London at the famous Spitalfields weavers manufactory and dates to aboutr 1815.
These lovely shawls were produced during the period 1800 until the 1830s along with beautiful dress silks which started to be woven in the 18th century.
These stoles have become very rare and are avidly collected. The design of this beauty is elegant and stylish and the whole stole is in excellent condition. Beautiful as an addition to a collection of costume of the period. The first three pictures show the true shade of the blue.
